Current Feeling: Overwhelmed.

Breathe in, breathe out.

I’m currently sitting in a coffee shop trying to get some work done, but have learned that being stressed out and being productive do not go well together. I think one of the hardest parts of medical school is balance. Understanding that you will not have time to read the 70 pages of Ethics from the lecture today, and prepare fro 2 bio chem lectures and a Tissue lecture for tomorrow. This is very hard for a perfectionist to do.

School is really picking up. This week, we add Ethics and Tissue and Organ Biology to the schedule. Next week, Epidemiology. I start my first selective with a Child Psychiatrist tomorrow and have to get the ball rolling with my community service project requirement. Most lunch hours are filled with (awesome) lunch talks and club meetings, so the days are getting longer and more packed. Making weekend plans, seeing friends, and even working out fall quickly to the bottom of the list. I CAN’T let that happen. Balance, remember.

In moments like this, I try to take a step back and put my mind at ease. I have to remind myself that I really love what I am doing, I do!

I feel better already! Back to the books ; )

For those interested, I took a picture of my schedule this week. Everysingle day is defferent in med school, so they really keep you on your toes!!

xoxo

  1. That is one jammed packed schedule! Very impressive, and I can see why stress comes naturally with a line up of one after another complex though stimulating studies. BREATHE IN = BREATH OUT – “exactement”! Love the working in Child Psy. That is very cool. You know how to manage. This is the key. Think how your mom did it all these years! She’s the expert on that.
    Love you and BIG HUGS!!!!
