W’s cousin came to visit that weekend. Activities included bowling at Jillian’s, brunch at Cafeteria on Newbury, shopping at Jack Will’s and Bodega, a visit to our favorite cheese shop in the South End, and consequently an unavoidable and intelligent cheese plate.
His birthday was on January 8th, but not too long ago to reminisce. We woke up early, ate breakfast, and drove to Maudslay State Park in Newburyport, MA. The state park is the site of the former Moseley family estate that overlooks the Merrimack River. We spent to afternoon strolling, holding hands, and wandering upon gardens and old buildings to explore. The weather was nice, crisp and chilly, and we spotted this cool hawk looking thing that W was able to identify with his nerdy bird watching book.
After the peaceful stroll, we visited the adorable harbor town of Newburyport. W expanded his record collection and we had the best margaritas and nachos at Agave to end a perfect day. That night, I gave W his bday presents- a paisley tie, a M83 record, a home cooked birthday dinner, and sea monkeys! We snuggled to a Stephan Hawking movie that night.
We are so fortunate to have each other, or friends, our family, and such amazing opportunities.
